About

I’m Aiden. I write about travel — anywhere it takes me — from Seoul, South Korea.

Why I started Roamlore

Life gets heavy. I’ve tried a lot of things to reset, and nothing has worked the way travel does. Something about standing in an unfamiliar street forces you to look at yourself honestly. I started writing things down so I wouldn’t lose those moments.

Then there was the other reason, the practical one.

Every time I planned a trip, I drowned. There is an enormous amount of travel information online, and that is exactly the problem. I couldn’t tell which parts actually applied to me. Half of what I found was years out of date — a bus route that no longer runs, a price that had doubled, a shop that closed. I made real mistakes on the road because of it, and lost hours I should have spent enjoying the place.

So Roamlore is my attempt at the guide I wanted and couldn’t find. Destinations, food, culture, and the practical details that decide whether a trip goes well.

What you’ll find here

  • Real numbers. What things actually cost, in local currency and in dollars, with the date I paid them.
  • Honest sourcing. Where I’ve been, I say so. Where I’ve researched rather than visited, I say that too.
  • Food and culture, not just sights. What people eat, what they celebrate, and why it matters — the part that turns a trip into a memory.
  • Korea from the inside. I live here. When I write about the food, the filming locations behind the dramas you’ve watched, or where people actually shop for skincare, it comes from ordinary life rather than a press release.

How I keep it current

Every post carries the date it was last checked. When something changes — a fare, an opening time, a closure — I go back and fix it. If you find something that’s wrong or out of date, tell me and I’ll correct it.
